The Light
Developing lore, quest design and branching narratives for a new video game concept. Here I developed the idea for Yonder Goes The Light, a first person RPG game in which you play the ‘Wander’ aka Gideon, a horsebound drifter in a world plagued by the ‘neocrete’, a nano technology that has consumed the world. The process took me through developing a series of character descriptions, backstory and world lore, ultimately leading to the creation of the game dev facing branching narrative and quest design documents. This was initially as part of the Pulse College, Narrative Design for Video Games, twelve week course. The course included on-going one-to-one feedback from industry professional, Jesse Baule, lead narrative designer and game writer with over ten years of experience in the entertainment industry.
